Advent and Christmas

During this season of Advent, we wait and prepare for the coming of our Lord. We decorate our church with blue, the color of hope, to remind us to keep our eyes on the horizon. There is usually a theme for this season that extends into Christmas.

And on Christmas Eve, we celebrate with special music, Holy Communion, and Candlelighting at 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.We invite you to join us in this season of hope, awaiting the birth of our Lord.

Lent and Easter

Lent is a time for spiritual reflection, repentance, and renewal in preparation for the celebration of Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil).

During this time, people sometimes give up things that are normally part of their daily lives, such as certain foods or activities, to draw closer to God.

On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the joy and fanfare of Jesus’ resurrection and the empty tomb. It is a special time for Christians to share with one another the miracle of Jesus’ death and resurrection and its implications for our lives. The Great Three Days of the Church, which includes Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday, are the highlight of the season.
