On this Curious Events Day, October 9th, I invite you to join me in exploring some of the curious events that have shaped our faith. These are stories that have sparked wonder, raised questions, and challenged our understanding of God, Jesus, and the life of faith.

The Curious Birth of Jesus

One of the most curious events in the Christian story is the birth of Jesus. According to the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus was born to a virgin named Mary. This is a highly unusual event, and it has led to much speculation and debate.

Some scholars have argued that the story of Jesus’ virgin birth is a myth, while others have suggested that it is a historical event that has been embellished over time. Whatever the case may be, the story of Jesus’ birth is a reminder that God is capable of doing amazing things.

The Curious Miracles of Jesus

Jesus performed many miracles during his ministry. He healed the sick, raised the dead, and even walked on water. These miracles were a sign of Jesus’ power and authority. They also showed that Jesus was a compassionate man who cared deeply for people.

The miracles of Jesus are a reminder that God is still at work in the world today. He is a God who is able to do great things, and he is a God who loves us and wants to help us.

The Curious Resurrection of Jesus

The most curious event in the Christian story is the resurrection of Jesus. After Jesus was crucified, he rose from the dead three days later. This event is the foundation of the Christian faith. It is a sign that Jesus is victorious over sin and death.

The resurrection of Jesus is a reminder that we too will one day be resurrected. We will be given new bodies, and we will live forever with God.

A Time to Wonder

Curious Events Day is a time to wonder and explore. It is a time to ask questions, to challenge our assumptions, and to seek a deeper understanding of God, Jesus, and the life of faith.

I invite you to join me on this journey of exploration. Let us be curious about the world around us and let us be open to the possibility that God is doing amazing things in our midst.
