This Lenten season, we’re diving into a transformative theme: All We Need. From March 5 to April 20, 2025, we’ll explore what it means to truly thrive—not just as individuals, but as a community rooted in love, justice, and grace. Together, we’ll rethink what “needs” really are, guided by scripture, reflection, and the shared wisdom of our congregation.

What to Expect

This isn’t your typical Lenten series. Sure, we’ll talk about basics like rest and advocacy, but we’re also digging into needs you might not expect: vulnerability, beauty, change, and even Jesus’ surprising request for a donkey! Each week, we’ll blend worship, storytelling, and practical action to help us see our lives—and our neighbors’ lives—through God’s expansive lens.

Here’s a sneak peek at the journey:

  • Ash Wednesday (March 5): Our Own and Others’ Needs
Let’s kick things off by untangling the myth that “my needs” and “your needs” are separate. Spoiler: They’re deeply connected.
  • First Sunday (March 9): The Need to Embrace Vulnerability
Forget bootstraps—Jesus shows us strength starts with saying, “I can’t do this alone.”
  • Second Sunday (March 16): The Need for Sleep
Yes, even Jesus napped. Let’s reclaim rest as holy rebellion against burnout culture.
  • Third Sunday (March 23): The Need for an Advocate
When life feels like a pop quiz, who’s got your back? (Spoiler: God does—and calls us to do the same.)
  • Fourth Sunday (March 30): The Need for Change
Change isn’t just inevitable—it’s sacred. Let’s celebrate the prodigal child’s messy, beautiful journey home.
  • Fifth Sunday (April 6): The Need for Beauty
    Beauty isn’t a luxury. It’s soul food—and a radical act of worship.
  • Palm Sunday (April 13): Jesus Needs Our Help
Why a donkey? Discover how small acts of participation spark big divine work.
  • Holy Week (April 17–19): Love, Protection, and New Life
From the Last Supper to the empty tomb, we’ll sit with grief, hope, and the stubborn promise of resurrection.
  • Easter Sunday (April 20): The Need to Rejoice
If we won’t shout for joy, the rocks will. Let’s make some noise!

How We’ll Grow Together

  • Devotionals & Midweek Healing Services: Dive deeper with daily reflections and a midweek space for prayer and renewal.
  • Community Sharing: Contribute to our “Needs Wall” (virtual or in-person) to voice what’s on your heart—and pray for others.
  • Action + Beauty: Plant a community garden, share art, or join a prayer chain. Because meeting needs isn’t just about giving—it’s about creating together.

Why This Matters

Lent isn’t just about giving things up. It’s about opening up—to God, to each other, and to the messy, beautiful work of being human. Whether you’re craving quiet reflection or ready to roll up your sleeves, there’s a place for you here.

So, friends, let’s journey through Lent All We Need-style: imperfectly, together, and with hearts wide open. See you March 5!
