Today I want to talk about something super important – moms! Yep, you heard me right. I want to shine a big ole spotlight on the incredible power of mothers in our church community.
Now, I know what you might be thinking – “Pastor Travis, why are we talking about moms in church? Shouldn’t we be talking about, like, Jesus and stuff?” And you know what, you’re right. Jesus is totally awesome, and we talk about him a lot. But today, I want to take a moment to honor and celebrate the unsung heroes in our church – the moms! especially since Sunday is Mother’s Day!!
First off, let’s talk about all the amazing things moms do in our church. From leading Sunday school classes to organizing bake sales, moms are always there, making sure everything runs smoothly. They’re like the secret superheroes of the church, quietly working behind the scenes to make sure everyone feels loved and cared for.
But it’s not just the big stuff that makes moms so special in our church community. It’s the little things too, like giving the warmest hugs, sharing words of wisdom, and always having a stash of tissues in their purses for when we get a little teary-eyed during church. Moms are like our very own cheerleaders, always rooting for us and encouraging us to be our best selves.
And let’s not forget about all the funny moments moms bring to our church too. Like when they try to play the piano during choir practice and accidentally hit a sour note, or when they tell the best jokes during coffee hour that make us all laugh until our bellies ache (unlike me, apparently!). Moms bring so much joy and laughter to our church, and we are so grateful for them.
So, to all the moms out there, whether you’re a birth mom, adoptive mom, stepmom, or any other kind of mom – thank you. Thank you for being the heart and soul of our church community. Thank you for your unwavering love, your endless support, and your incredible wisdom. We see you, we appreciate you, and we love you more than words can say.
So, let’s all take a moment to give a big round of applause to the moms in our church. They truly are the unsung heroes, and we are so blessed to have them in our lives.
Thanks for hanging out with me and letting me gush about how awesome moms are. Remember, give your mom a big hug and tell her how much she means to you. Until next time, keep spreading love and joy wherever you go.
