I’m extremely glad that your journey has brought you to our web site.  A lot of people use the metaphor of a journey for the life of faith and out work of discipleship or following Jesus.  It’s a fitting metaphor because we are following Jesus on the journey of faith and life always watching to see where those things connect.  Together, Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church has been on a journey for over 100 years of providing ministry to the greater South Haven community.

I love this metaphor of a journey because there is no endpoint.  We’re always on the road, always in progress, always coming along.  The journey is open for others to travel with us wherever the path takes us and in whatever new ventures, experiences, and opportunities come our way.  Our heads are wet from our baptism, Christ’s mark is on us, and together we are the Church sent out for the sake of the gospel and the world!

We invite you to come and see what we’re all about!  We worship once on Sunday  morning at 9:00 a.m. either in the parking lot or streaming online.  You’re welcome to come as you are, some folks will dress up, but others will be casual.  We do follow a pattern to our worship services, but a bulletin or an order of service will tell you what’s going on.  Communion is served at every service and you are welcome to partake in that.  Children are most welcome in worship, but we also do have spaces where they can be if they need some time away too!

God’s peace be with you!

What To Expect

What's a service like?

We follow the liturgy of the church year as printed in the Evangelical Lutheran Worship book.  Holy Communion is celebrated at each and every service.  All are welcome at the Lord’s Table.

What's the music like?

We worship out of the Evangelical Lutheran Worship book, using traditional hymns.  We are mostly accompanied by a pipe organ, but occasionally we are graced by our grand piano.

How do people dress?

At Peace, we believe that worshiping together is far more important than what one wears to worship.  Come as you are comfortable.  If you prefer to dress up, dress up.  If jeans and a nice shirt are more your style, that’s alright too.  No one is looked down upon or turned away based on the clothes they are wearing.

What about my kids?

Children are very welcome at Peace and we understand that sometimes they get a little restless…and that’s ok.  We offer to parents of young ones a “Cry Room” located at the back of the sanctuary with a speaker system and a window into the Sanctuary so you can still participate in the service.  However, please know that we love to have young ones participate with you in the service.

Can I take communion?

YES!  All are welcome at the Lord’s Table.  This includes everyone – young & old, member & visitor.

How can I get connected?

Please sign the Guest Register when you are here so that we can offer you a word of welcome.  You may also text WELCOME to our main number: (269) 637-4104 and you’ll connect directly with someone.  If you are interested in learning more about Peace Lutheran Church, feel free to contact us by phone (269-637-4104) or by e-mail at information@peaceinsouthhaven.org.
